Toby's Sugar Cookies

Hi everyone, so every so often my husband likes to get into the kitchen and cook as well.  I have to say he's pretty good at it too.  If ever he wanted to put up cooking videos and blogs I think he would be some tough competition for me.  So a few weeks back we were all craving sugar cookies.  I found a very basic and simple recipes out of one of my cook books and I thought this would be right up Toby's ally in keeping things simple.  So here is the recipe Toby's way, I hope you enjoy it.

2 3/4 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1 cup of butter softened
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
5 tablespoons of milk

Keeping with keeping all things simple method, my husband mixed it all up in one bowl.  Just note when you do it this way you have to add some milk or water to loosen up the batter a little bit.  We added milk simply because it gave it a soft texture, also it made the sweetness from the cookies a little mild.  So go ahead add in all your liquids first and then all the dry ingredients and mix them all up.  Pre heat your ovens to 375 degrees, and spoon the batter on the cookie sheet ( no need to grease the pan).  Bake for about 10-15 minutes depending on your ovens.  Let cool for about 2-3 minutes and serve with some lemonade, sweet tea, or just ice cold milk.  FYI, we use skim milk but you can use whatever milk you have on hand.  Enjoy everyone and live, laugh and love.
