Healthy Lifestyle Update No Recipe

Hello everyone I hope all is well where you are today. As some of you know that read my blog on a regular or semi regular basis you know that I needed to make a change in my lifestyle. Myself like so many others, will probably always have to work on being healthy for the rest of my life so I am trying really hard to make the best of it. I have had so many slip ups its not even funny and I know that everything right now is trial and error. With that being said I haven't gained or lost any weight. I am still at a 28 pound weight loss, and I am so frustrated. I dont want to try any diets because I never stick to them, as soon as a diet tells me to stay away from certain things I find myself breaking those rules. I have been going along the all natural route for example I try not to eat anything that has more than 5 ingredients if its a packaged item. If its like a salad or mess of fresh fruit well that is different. I also try not to eat anything I cannot pronounce and of course drinking a ton of water. I have been drinking about 1 can of ginger ale a day simply because a lot of water lately has been giving me heart burn. At any rate the goal here is to drink no soda at all, I am working on it and I may have to enter a 12 step program lol jk. Regardless though its very hard I dont care what anyone says for me its been difficult and its so easy to slip up since my husband loves all the "junk" food out there. My husband like so many others out there can eat a whole cow and deep fried pig for breakfast and then wash it all down with triple bacon cheeseburgers and deep fried french fries and never gain an ounce. I think I gained 36 pounds just writing all that lol. In the world of weight loss when it comes to men and women its just not a fair fight. However that is for another blog I do actually have some good news. I have lost inches just not pounds. I have been hearing that its a very good thing to be losing inches, so I am happy about that. I am thinking about changing my diet I think that is why the numbers on my scale are not going down. I have been reading about raw food diets and vegan diets and even though I am not totally there yet, I really enjoy some of the recipes with chicken or fish or extra lean red meats. I have put up a few recipes lately depicting this change in my eating. I have to take it gradual and who knows maybe I will be eating tofu before too long. Well I hope you enjoyed my blog of ramblings and live, laugh and love.

  1. Hi Heather,

I have been trying to steer Ann away from your blog, because I don't want her to get hooked on cooking all that veggie stuff. I am a lot like Toby. I eat what I want, when I want, and as much as I want. I generally stay at 155 lbs anyway. I used to be 6 ft 1 in tall, but old age has taken it's toll, and I now have shrunk to about 5 ft 11 in. Or there-abouts. LOL.

I have an idea. I am going to ask Ann if she will send you her green anchilada casserole. I don't know if she will, as she says she has no set amounts of anything. She says that she just throws stuff together. But it always taste the same, so I think she is telling me a little "whitie" and it is one of my favorites things that she makes. Knowing that Toby likes Tex-Mex, I'm sure he would love it.

I think her Ghulash (SIC) is probably my first favorite. I can't get enough to that.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I do check your blog, and I really enjoyed your blog post, writing about your Christmas. Very entertaining.

  2. Hi Bob and Ann, thank you so much for checking out my blog. I finally came up with a system that I should be able to put out a new blog post for 5 days of the week so I can be more consistent with it. I throw things together when I make things too. I know Toby would love that casserole, I bet if she just told me what ingredients she throws into it I probably could take it from there. It was nice hearing from you and thank you very much for the comment.

  3. Ann says she will think about, and try to come up with a workable solution for you. Stay tuned.......Bob
